About the Motile Gallery:
Motile refers to the ability to move spontaneously and actively. The word comes from the field of biology and refers to the trait of being able to respond autonomously to one’s environment. There are three units that comprise the Motile Art Gallery. Designed to take art to the town square and neighborhood streets, the Motile Gallery functions an alternative gallery space. As post-production artist Pierre Huyghe reminds us, we are not saturated with images but “subjugated to the lack of certain images.”
